Biodetection Solutions

GAIKER develops detection systems to help companies have fast, portable, sensitive and low-cost solutions based on biological recognition mechanisms that enable them to control parameters of interest within their activity. These developments are carried out for targets such as micro-organisms, health markers, allergens and environmental pollutants, etc… The sectors most in demand of this type of solutions are food, human health, animal and plant health, environment and industry 4.0.

We carry out the following activities in this field:
• Selection of specific markers and securing of biological recognition molecules (mainly antibodies and nucleic acids)
– Evaluation of new antibodies and aptamers for the development of sensors with different transduction systems: optical, electrochemical, spectrophotometric and magnetic
• Biofunctionalisation of surfaces and nanoparticles with biological molecules (DNA and antibodies) for the development of biosensors
• Development of nucleic acid and antibody-based analysis tools on a laboratory scale
• Miniaturisation and adaptation of biological identification procedures: sample preparation, signal extraction and amplification
