Definition of a management scheme for end of life lithium-ion batteries. Study of the deactivation, disassembling and treatment steps to apply to the complete batteries and the physicochemical separation operations that allow recycling the components, materials and substances, in particular valuable and critical metals, within them. Selection of the steps and operations which are included in the economically viable and more sustainable alternatives.

The GAIKER-IK4’s main role within HISER is focused on developing advanced sensor based sorting technologies for the production of high-purity raw materials.
