AERONAUTIC

Development and commissioning of processes for airplane parts in compound materials.

Development of materials.

  • Development of epoxy or vinylester/carbon pre-pregs or phenolic resins adapted to any processes (compression, thermoforming, etc.).

Finite element design and calculation

  • Finite element mechanical and thermal design and calculation by FEM of plastic pieces and composites. Support software: CATIA v.5. IDEAS, Solid-edge and ANSYS.

Characterization and testing of materials

  • Mechanical tests:
    Tensile, flexural, compression, bearing, pull-out, inter laminar shear strength (ILSS), flat shear strength, (SBS), density, sheet thickness, fatigue, etc.
    Test conditions: RTD, ETW and others.
  • Tests on pre-pegs:
    Tg, gel time, % fibre, % resin, volatiles, weight per m2.
  • Fire tests:
    Flammability, smoke density (NBS chamber), smoke toxicity.
  • Other tests:
    DMTA, TMA, DSC, accelerated ageing. Thermal cycles.
