• july 2010 Ms Begoņa Goiricelaya, new Director-General of GAIKER-IK4
  From the 1st of July Ms Begoņa Goiricelaya has been the new Director-General of GAIKER-IK4, having taken over from Mr Iņaki Letona, who has headed the Technological Centre since 1992.
  
  
• july 2010 New device for detecting Sexually Transmitted Diseases
  A portable device developed by IK4 Technological Alliance and capable of detecting, in less than half an hour, chlamydia, the presence of the human papiloma virus - inductor of cancer of the uterus – and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) is about to be launched on the market.
  
  
• may 2010 Gaiker-IK4 converts plastic items - non-recyclable to date - into value-added resources
  The Gaiker-IK4 technological centre is leading an R+D+i project in cooperation with the CARTIF, CIRCE and ITENE centres, and the aim of which is to carry out research into new chemical processes that will enable the conversion of what is known as complex waste into resources: substances with added value such as, for example, liquid fuels, mixtures of gases and new materials.
